A shocking news in the grips of our news desk indicates that a 4 year old boy has been washed away by a running water from a gutter.
According to an eye witness account, the children, four in number, tried to step over the gutter when it was raining. According to him he later saw one of the children had fell on the gutter which prompted him to rescue him, and in his attempt to do so, the felling victim later told him the gutter had washed away his younger brother. Several attempts to rescue the boy proved futile since he was no where to found.

Speaking to the six(6) year old elder brother who fell on the gutter he said he only saw his younger brother being washed away by the running water.
According to him, they had returned from a fufu pounding machine grounds after their mother had sent them. He said he tried to rescue his brother after their oldest sister had gone far from them and could not hear them calling her.
Grieved mother of the child, Mad. Priscilla Odoom aka Maadwoa, who could not hold her tears said she only realized the sad incident after the children had kept long from the errand.
“I went out to search for my children after the rain, and only to be told my son, Bishop had been washed away by the running water.

Assembly member of the Ahwiaa Overseas, Hon. Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong who was shocked by the incident pleaded with the municipal assembly, NADMO and other stakeholders to fix the deplorable drainage systems in the area. He said he had already complained to the assembly before this sad incident.
Speaking to the Kwabre east municipal NADMO coordinator, Mr. Anthony Senya, he said the incident was quiet unfortunate. He revealed that this is the first time in this year a running water has drowned someone. He took the opportunity to console the parents and urged all parents to be very careful with their wards especially in this rainy season. He assured that NADMO was going to do their best to prevent any disaster within the municipality.
